Remove a Date Stamp from a Photo

Remove a camera date or time printed into the corner of your picture. Describe the overlay and keep the full composition instead of cropping away part of the photograph.

Starting point

Target edit

Illustration of the editing goal, not a generated photo. Upload your image to compare actual results.

The editing goal

Keep the frame. Remove the visible date in the corner.

Start with a focused change and tell the editor which details to keep:

  • The original framing
  • People and important objects
  • Other writing outside the date stamp

Compare fine details with your original after generating. Results vary with the source photo and instruction.

Keep the edges of your photo

A corner crop can cut into scenery, clothing or a person’s feet. A local date-removal instruction asks the editor to fill the covered area while retaining the composition.

Target the digits and their outline

Mention orange numbers, a dark outline or a second line showing the time. A specific description helps distinguish the camera overlay from signs and writing in the scene.

Prepare a cleaner album copy

Create an edited version for a personal album, print layout or slideshow. Keep the original file separately if the date or source metadata matters to your records.

Made for your photo

Keep the whole frame, from holidays to family albums

Orange digits over a plain background

A camera date over sky or a wall has relatively simple surroundings. Inspect the rebuilt gradient for a patch or outline. The goal is a clean local area without changing the crop or brightening the whole image.

A date over grass or beach texture

Repeated texture needs to continue naturally after the digits are removed. Compare the edited area with the rest of the ground and look for obvious repetition. A plausible fill is not necessarily the exact content that was under the stamp.

A stamp crossing clothes or an object edge

An overlay over a patterned sleeve, fence or face is harder to reconstruct. Check edges and small details closely. When important information is covered, keep the source and consider whether a partial cleanup is more useful than an uncertain replacement.

A starting prompt for your photo

Use a prompt below to fill the editor, then adjust it for your picture. Your uploaded photos stay in place; selecting a prompt does not start generation.

Bottom-right date

A camera date in the bottom-right corner.

Remove only the visible camera date stamp in the bottom-right corner, including its colored digits and outline. Reconstruct only the small covered area from surrounding texture. Preserve framing, people, objects and other text elsewhere. Do not apply broad retouching or change the scene.

Bottom-left date

A camera date in the bottom-left corner.

Remove only the visible camera date stamp in the bottom-left corner, including its colored digits and outline. Reconstruct only the small covered area from surrounding texture. Preserve framing, people, objects and other text elsewhere. Do not apply broad retouching or change the scene.

Visible camera timestamp

For another position: identify the location or digits in the instruction.

Remove only the visible camera date-and-time overlay. Preserve all unrelated signs, writing and image details. Reconstruct only the small covered area from surrounding texture. Preserve framing, people, objects and other text elsewhere. Do not apply broad retouching or change the scene.

Make it your own. Name exactly which text should go: ‘Remove the orange 06 12 1998 date in the bottom-right corner, including its outline. Keep the shop sign and other writing.’

How to remove a Date Stamp from a Photo

  1. Step 01

    Upload the stamped photo

Use the largest version available. Locate the date and check whether it overlaps a plain background, repeated texture or an important detail.

  2. Step 02

    Identify the overlay

Choose the bottom-left or bottom-right prompt, or describe another location. Include the digits, outline and time line that should disappear.

  3. Step 03

    Check the filled area

Sign in to generate, then inspect the corner for leftover digits, repeated patches or broken object edges. Download the clean copy after comparing the framing.

Remove the visible date without confusing it with metadata

AI date stamp removal

Best for
Filling the small image area covered by visible camera digits.
Consider
The covered pixels are inferred from surrounding content.

Crop the corner

Best for
Removing a stamp when losing some of the frame is acceptable.
Consider
Also removes scenery or subjects near that edge.

Edit EXIF metadata

Best for
Managing a file’s stored capture-date information.
Consider
Does not erase digits that are already part of the image.

Get more from your original photo

Upload the largest available version and identify exactly where the camera date appears. Include a description of its color or digits if there is other writing in the picture. A date on open sky or a plain wall is easier to evaluate than one crossing a face, railing or patterned garment. Keep the original file.

A visible timestamp is different from an EXIF date

Digits printed into the image are part of its pixels. This page asks the image editor to remove that visible overlay. It is not a metadata editor and should not be used to set or verify the file’s capture date. Keep the original if you need its metadata.

Describe the location instead of cropping away the corner

Choose the corner preset that matches your photo, then refine the instruction if needed. You do not need to cut away the entire edge of the picture. The prompt asks for framing to remain, but check the output dimensions and composition before saving.

Review the reconstructed patch at full size

Include the digits, their outline and any glow in your description. If a faint trace remains, use a more specific instruction. Avoid a broad request to remove all text: it can affect signs, labels or handwritten notes that belong in the photograph.

Remove date stamps: frequently asked questions

Can I remove a date stamp without cropping?

The presets ask to remove the visible date and keep the original framing. Review the result’s composition and dimensions because generative editing can still alter nearby areas or the output size.

Does this change the EXIF shooting date?

This is a visible-image editing task, not an EXIF editor. It does not offer a control to modify capture metadata, and a generated download may not retain all metadata from the source. Keep your original file.

Can it remove orange digits and their outline?

Yes, the preset explicitly asks for the digits and outline to be removed. If there is a glow or a second line showing the time, describe it before generating. Inspect for faint traces afterward.

What if the date covers a face or an important object?

The original pixels beneath the overlay are not available in the flattened image. The editor may infer a plausible replacement. Do not rely on it to recover a person’s true features or factual text.

Can I use a different location than the two corner presets?

Choose Visible camera timestamp and edit the instruction to describe the position or digits. Be specific when the photo also contains signs, labels or handwriting you want to keep.

Do I need to sign in, and can I use starter credits?

Sign in to generate. Eligible new accounts receive starter credits, and all models are available when your balance covers the displayed cost. Nano Banana 2 is selected by default. Check the total in the editor and purchase more credits if needed.

Which files can I upload, and are my results private?

Upload JPG, PNG or WebP photos. Free generations use public mode and results may be selected for public display. Watermark-free downloads require purchase access. Review the account options on the pricing page and keep a copy of your original photo.
